U.S. Customs has moved its October 22 change to January 20, 2027, and nothing changes for SimplePills patients: we are ready for the change whenever it starts, you can keep ordering medication from Canada as usual, and our commitments stay the same, with no planned pause in shipping, no tariff costs passed on to you, and a free second package if a shipping or customs issue means your package can't be delivered. The FDA's personal importation policy is not changing.

What this means for you

You do not need to do anything differently. You can continue placing your order and providing your prescription as usual.

Our commitments stay the same:

  • No expected interruption: We are not planning to pause shipping, and we currently expect customers to continue ordering and receiving medications as usual.
  • No tariff costs passed on to patients: SimplePills continues to cover applicable U.S. tariff costs, and we are not raising prices because of these changes.
  • Shipment protection: If your package can't be delivered to you because of a shipping issue, including a customs issue, we can send a second package free of charge.

SimplePills is ready either way

We have already adapted to the new requirements, so we are ready whenever the change starts.

What changed

Only the date. On October 14, 2026, U.S. Customs announced that the process change planned for October 22, 2026 will now start on January 20, 2027.

The FDA's personal importation policy is not changing.

The bottom line

The date has moved to January 20, 2027, but nothing changes for SimplePills patients. We are ready, and our commitments stay the same.
